10,000 Steps Isn’t Everything #MyFitbitLife

I spent the day shopping with a friend for supplies for our homeschool community, and I racked up a good amount of steps. However, I still found myself at only 6500 by 6:45pm. Knowing I was having dinner with a friend and her son at the hospital, I knew it was ok if I came up short today.

Let’s be honest. 10,000 steps isn’t everything.

My son, Thomas, and her son are only four days apart. And play dates seems to give him a little boost of energy or “get up and go”. While Thomas ended up getting a little too hyper towards the end of our visit, overall – I am proud of the way he plays quietly with his friend in the hospital.

It is embarrassing though when the doctor has to say “I don’t think that’s a good idea when your son decides to stand up and jump on his buddy’s hospital bed.

My husband graciously takes our children to eat and play downstairs at the hospital while Thomas and I visit with our good friends upstairs. (Our family life is life together.) Tonight, Thomas wanted to play too. So what does mom do? I get my steps walking around the rectangular piece of astroturf by the playground before we head home.

Steps achieved.

More importantly, fellowship with a hurting friend. If you have a minute, say a prayer for mom and son (age three) please. Praising the Lord that He is in control in this tempestuous storm.
