Buck Denver and Doing Big Things for God

This post is not a paid advertisement. I did receive a free viewing of this new DVD feature, but all opinions are my own.

In Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9, Buck Denver is ready to do big things for God. Buck desperately desires to reach Captain status, and a successful completion of a mission to sector 9 will catapult his dreams into reality.
“Pastor Paul will be impressed. God will be impressed. I’ll be doing big things for God, and then my life will really matter.”

Interestingly, this is for children (who will LOVE it by the way), but the message will reach deep into the heart of adults too. How often do we think we should be doing BIG things for God, just like Buck? We have BIG plans, and want God to bless our success. After all, it’s for Him, right?

Well, Buck Denver’s plans begin to fall apart all around him.

“I’m doing my part. Why isn’t He doing His?”

Join Buck Denver in this engaging film, and learn together as a family that God wants us, not what we can do for Him. He wants our heart, our love, and our trust.

When you begin watching this with your children (seriously – or by yourself), you might feel discouraged that the message is about everyone doing big things for God. In true Phil Vischer style, you soon see that he uses this set-up to hit home the truth – to show us that being available to God, loving Him, and trusting Him – those are the big things He truly wants. Some people may start an orphanage in Africa or save their friends from aliens and a cage hanging over hot lava. The rest of us might be living day to day in our hometown, raising a family, or working in an office building, serving in the nursery at church, or taking meals to shut-ins. It’s not what God has called us to do, but that we are available to do it, trusting Him all the way!

You will find humorous nods to Star Wars and to Star Trek throughout this video. I love it when they add in a few lines just for the parents!

You can win your own FREE copy of Galaxy Buck’s new DVD, which is being released for order on October 20th!  If that is too long to wait, it will also be released on JellyTelly, an online streaming site with shows to teach your child about God, the Bible, and faith.

About the movie:
Buck Denver has a simple dream – to save the galaxy.  Working for the Galactic Mission Board, Buck dreams of carrying God’s love to every corner of the Milky Way!  Except he doesn’t have a starship.  Or a crew.  Or even a captain’s license.  He just needs a chance.  But when that chance comes and Buck finds himself leading a real mission into deep space, things don’t go at ALL like he imagined!  If he’s doing what God wants him to do, why is everything going wrong?  From VeggieTales® and What’s in the Bible? creator Phil Vischer, Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is a wild, galactic adventure that teaches kids a powerful lesson about trusting God with everything – even our dreams!
