Project Happy Birthday – Matthew Needs You!

I know a little guy about to turn the big 3! He’s spent the last two months in the hospital recovering from surgical complications, and it it looking like there is a good chance he’ll spend his third birthday there too.

Matthew’s mom is a special friend of mine, and Matthew is a special friend of my little JT.

Best Buddies

These two are four days apart, and we plan to celebrate their birthdays together. As exciting as that is, I wish it wasn’t possible, because that would mean Matthew was home.  But, since he is here, we might as well have a party!

Here is where I need you!

Matthew has a few bare walls in his room. Setting a goal to remedy that, I am asking all my friends in the DFW area to make Matthew a Happy 3rd Birthday card!

We need some pictures behind that chair!

Draw a fun picture.

Write a silly poem.

Cover a paper in stickers.

Show Matthew some birthday love!

No birthday gifts please. A sheet of stickers would be fine, but no toys or anything of that nature. Just cards with hand drawn fun on them! Hopefully, this is a project to keep his spirits high – and his family’s too!

If you attend FBC Euless and can bring them Sunday, I’ll be glad to get them. Otherwise, we can work out a drop-off/pick up this weekend.

Thank you for your help! If you are not in the area and would like to send a message, please comment on this post. I’ll print out and deliver your message!

Happy, Happy Birthday Matthew!!! You are a gift from the Lord and you are PRECIOUS in His sight! Did you know he takes great delight in you and rejoices over you with singing? The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (‭Zephaniah‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ NIV) Have a wonderful day being rejoiced over!! 🙂
